KFC paper bags used to wrap schoolbooks
Updated | By Jacaranda FM/Udesha Moodley-Judhoo
Last year, it was Checkers Sixty60 bags; this year, KFC bags made their way onto book wrapping...
It's that time of the year when we have to shake off the holiday blues and get back to reality.
Part of that means getting back into gear and preparing for back to school. It means completing our back-to-school shopping, readjusting back into our routines, and covering and labelling our school books.
In 2024, we saw a mother go viral on TikTok for sharing her innovative approach to covering her child's schoolbooks. She used the recyclable Checkers Sixty60 paper bags to cover her kids' books, which was great.
It seems someone else has taken inspiration from the mother and decided to switch things up by using recyclable paper bags from another brand.
A video shared by TikTok user Somila Zweni showed him using KFC takeout paper bags to cover his schoolbooks.
It was interesting to see how this young man was using something as mediocre as a takeout bag to cover his book. More than that, it was a money-saving hack, an example of repurposing and recycling and essentially doing your bit for the environment.
