Kind man praised for stopping to help change lady's tyre

Being a gentleman doesn't cost you much...
There are those moments where as South Africans we can lose faith in humanity.
And, of course, we all can agree that it doesn't leave us with any sense of goodness.
But we think it is equally just as important to note those moments that make us feel proud to be a part of such a nation.
And as we celebrate a month that is dedicated to our heritage, which is so very diverse, we found a story that not only instills the spirit of Ubuntu, but also celebrates good men.
We came across a post on Facebook that shared the story of a young man who stopped to help a lady and her friends when her car had a flat tyre.
Now, in the country we live in, you won't find many people who would willingly stop to help a person in need.
Mostly because many people who have stopped have encountered thieves or been involved in dangerous crimes.
But this guy proved that helping someone when they are in need outweighs everything else.

As much as this shared post mentions the lady's name as Lerato Thobedi, we were unable to trace her on social media with this name.
What we also appreciated was the fact that many people flipped the script on the post, saying, why do we have to make it about appreciating a man who helped based on his race?
Why can't we just appreciate him for helping? In a world where chivalry is slowly fading away, it takes men such as this man to show us we can make a difference.
