Celebrating our wins is what this was all about.

As South Africans, we are known for our ability to celebrate each other's wins in the most uplifting ways.

Last month, at the MTN8 final, Orlando Pirates took on Stellenbosch F.C., and MTN celebrated Tyla's Best Afrobeats award at the MTV VMAs.

Tyla wore a unique neon yellow mini-dress with an iconic look (going against the norm). In honour of her win, MTN hired a dancer to play Tyla in their opening ceremony.

Martinique Palmer did a stellar job mimicking Tyla down to the attitude and the dancing.

The Instagram page, SA Clout, came for the dancer calling her 'Tyla from Temu', but many people snapped back and said that this was just a way of celebrating Tyla and her win.

It was disappointing to see how negative people can be regarding lookalikes; we cannot imagine how much courage it took for this young woman to go in front of thousands of people to perform; let's raise our hands to that instead of spreading shame.

"Mara she did great impersonating Tyla." one person said, and another said it perfectly with this, "We are bunch of winners, this was re-enactment of 🇿🇦 achievements." (Instagram)
