It is because of people such as this that we question the authentic nature of people sleeping on the side of the street.
It's not often that we want to acknowledge that the poverty-stricken state of our country and the world is as real as it is.
Not because we don't care, but because it feels like it is out of our control at times. Sadly, there are some who take advantage of the sensitive nature of poverty and abuse it.
A social experimenter, who often shares videos of his experiments online, recently shared a video of a lady he believed to be scamming people.
He approached a woman who was dressed like she wasn't well-to-do and sitting outside a store begging for money.
The thing about this woman is she was dropped off in a car and took on her role as a homeless person so efficiently.
When he asked her questions about why she came in a car, she was quick to say she didn't and then said she doesn't understand English.
