VIDEO: Man eats 'hot towel' thinking it was a mint at restaurant

This was the real-life version of that one scene from the Melissa McCarthy movie, 'Spy'.

You might remember the above scenes from the 2015 movie, 'Spy', starring Melissa McCarthy. The video is courtesy of YouTube.

Here, we see Melissa McCarthy presented in two very different situations. One was where she followed her gut and mistook hand towels for food, and another was where she thought food was hand towels.

As it turns out, she is not the only one who assumes the little white discs are mints.

A man was videoed dining out at a restaurant in Las Vegas, and when the waiter brought through a plate of the white discs, the man just picked it up and popped it in his mouth. He assumed these were mints, but they were hand towels that are activated when you pour water over them.

The waiter told him they were not mints after he saw the man popping the hand towel into his mouth.

But this was a classic example of how sometimes, we men don't listen...

  • "He’s nodding and chewing like he completely didn’t understand a single thing the guy said."
  • "I love that he just committed to his choice to eat a towel till the end."
  • "Remember in school when they told us to listen to ALL the instructions before starting?"
  • "I feel like the waiter should have simply said: “sir please spit out our towel”
  • "He’s such a great listener."
