Meet the singer who will be playing Ariel in 'The Little Mermaid' live-action remake

She might not be a redhead, but this 19-year-old is most definitely qualified - have a look.
After months of searching to find a deserving actress to play Ariel in the live-action remake, Disney announced that singer Halle Bailey will take on the coveted role.

Over the last few years, 19-year-old Halle has made a name for herself as half of the R&B sister duo Chloe x Halle. The duo started their career by posting cover videos to YouTube.
Halle also boasts a wide portfolio of successful works in music, television, and film. Since signing to Beyoncé's label, their fanbase has expanded to include Michelle Obama. Halle was also recently seen in the television series Grown-ish.
