Monkey allegedly directs traffic

Monkey see, monkey do... This is a level of traffic management no one was prepared for.

Monkeys never fail to entertain us with their playful antics, but that doesn't mean they haven’t caused a fair share of stress and frustration along the way.
For these clever primates, it's all about creating a stir and drawing attention, and they certainly know how to captivate an audience.
This time, it was a monkey – reportedly from Thailand – seen taking on a surprisingly human-like role: directing traffic.
An article on AOL described the monkey as confident and raised some intriguing questions about its actions beyond just managing traffic.
"Maybe this monkey is auditioning to be a crossing guard? Or could it be that the little critter is hitchhiking and trying to catch a ride? There's also a good chance he's just hungry and hoping someone in those cars will toss him some tasty snacks."
This certainly seems more in line with a monkey’s nature, always finding ways to get food. While we'd love to believe this was a selfless act to help the flow of traffic, it’s possible the monkey had other motives.
Whatever they were, it was entertaining to watch.
