New Snow White movie uses 'fat-shaming' poster
Updated | By Kriya Gangiah
Animated movies are normally kid-friendly and send a positive message, but this film might have missed the mark a little?
'Red Shoes and the 7 Dwarves', created by Locus Animation, has made headlines for all the wrong reasons. The movie hasn't even been released yet but is one of the most talked about movies due to its marketing campaign.

Twitter lit up recently when Tess Holliday, a well-known “plus size” model, called out the new film because of its promotional poster.
How did this get approved by an entire marketing team? Why is it okay to tell young kids being fat = ugly? 🤔😏@ChloeGMoretz pic.twitter.com/PVhgwluGTM

The poster, as above, was also criticised by the lead actress, Chloë Grace Moretz, who said she was “appalled and angry”.

According to a synopsis, 'Red Shoes and the 7 Dwarfs' is about “a princess who doesn’t fit into the celebrity world of princesses — or their dress size”. Moretz provides the voice of the film’s lead character, with Gina Gershon playing the evil queen, Regina.
I have now fully reviewed the mkting for Red Shoes, I am just as appalled and angry as everyone else, this wasn't approved by me or my team

Was this just a marketing campaign to get people talking about the movie? If so, was it a good idea?
