Only in SA: The art of being innovative in South Africa
Updated | By Jacaranda FM
Who needs wheels when you have your youth and good friends...
Dionne Warwick said it best when she said, 'That's What Friends Are For'.
A video shows two friends with their arms interlocked riding a bicycle together while standing. It is the perfect example of friends leaning on each other for a common cause and could be a clear definition of working together.
The video was taken by a motorist driving past the duo and noticed their unique bicycle riding method. It looked like something circus people might do in preparation for a show.
South Africans are known for their ability to make plans, hence the saying, 'Maak 'n Plan', but this video shows us how plans sometimes follow a flexible pattern.
Of course, these two could ride the bicycle this way because they were moving around a township.
Previously, we have seen a man ride his motorised wheelchair on the busy Johannesburg roads and even noticed a jalopy making its way through the streets of Cape Town in a humourous way.
It is important to note that as much as we have enjoyed the entertainment that comes with witnessing such occurrences, we don't agree with the unsafe nature.
Check out some of the comments on the video that applauded the boy's friendship.
- "The trust they have for each other it’s beyond."
- "Ride or die, such friendship."
- "This is the most impressive thing I've seen in a long time."
- "My immature self will follow them till last location."
- "The van that had to go off-road to avoid colliding into them."
