From prank to panic: Man superglues his lips together
This one is for the record books... But please don't try this at home.
Have you ever tried to pull a prank to grow your social media following – only for it to go horribly wrong?
We're not entirely sure if this was the case for a Filipino content creator, who is either a fantastic actor or just someone who can laugh at himself after a prank takes an unexpected turn.
The man, known as badis_tv on Instagram, shared a video that's received more than 430,000 likes.
There's no doubt that social media has given people worldwide a platform to share their lives and connect with others. It's also enabled many to earn a living doing what they love.
However, it's also pushed content creators to take more risks to capture the attention of a larger audience. As content creation gets more daring, viewers are demanding more from the creators they follow.
Badis_tv was willing to do something we'd guess most people wouldn't even dream of – just for the sake of creating content.
In the video, he's sitting in what appears to be a shop, casually applying superglue to his bottom lip and sealing his mouth shut. At first, he finds the situation amusing and tries to hold back laughter. But things escalate quickly.
As the Hindustan Times aptly put it, "The situation escalates quickly, and what was once a laugh turns into panic. The man’s expression changes from amusement to distress as he realises his mouth won't open, no matter how hard he tries. Tears begin to flow in moments, and he becomes visibly upset, realising the gravity of his mistake."
Anyone who's ever gotten superglue or "shoe glue" – his words – on their skin will know how painful (or at least uncomfortable) it can be.
This certainly didn’t look like fun. We're not sure how he managed to remove the glue, but he did – and he's moved forward with his content, continuing to entertain despite the mishap.
