Residents applaud neighbour for washing car in the rain
No water and you want to wash your car, no problem, wait for the rain...
This might be a sensitive topic for many people in Gauteng and other parts of South Africa, where access to a running water supply has recently been challenging.
However, as South Africans, we pride ourselves on seeing the silver lining, embracing the unknown, and being resilient throughout our challenges. Therefore, sharing a video of a man who saw the silver lining amidst his water woes would be a good idea.
With low dam levels and the introduction of 'water throttling', the people of Gauteng are not jumping for joy. You see, we believe the lifestyle we have become used to causes unhappiness.
When you are suddenly exposed to a life of consistent water and electricity, and suddenly, this changes and becomes inconsistent, of course, people will be upset.
This is why we can find it in us to be thankful for rain. Or at least that's what this man decided to be.
In the video, a woman is heard talking about one of their neighbours who decided to use the rain to his advantage. He went out in his raincoat, bucket and soapy water in hand, and opted to wash his car in the rain.
Of course, he knew the rain would wash away the dirt from his vehicle if he added soap to the mix. Some might consider it insane or crazy, but this is just genius if you ask us.
