SA comedian says wives need to stop buying colour socks

Socks are a classic "go-to" gift for many wives, but there are a few important things to consider when choosing this present.

Before you pat yourself on the back for buying your husband or partner those lovely socks, take a moment to listen up.

Andrew Hughes, a KZN-based comedian who works at Hyundai Amazimtoti, is known for sharing his pearls of wisdom on social media.

Like any great comedian, he draws inspiration from everyday experiences – and this time, his focus is on socks.

It might seem like an unusual topic, but wait until you hear what he has to say. We're pretty sure it’ll make your loved ones think twice before choosing socks as a gift again.

Hughes put on a serious face and declared he was making a public service announcement for all the married women out there.

His message? He’s not a fan of coloured socks, particularly those with a block of colour around the toe and heel.

But before you judge him too harshly for not appreciating the gesture, hear him out.

His reasoning was surprisingly sound. He explained that when one of these coloured socks goes missing, it sets off a snowball effect, potentially damaging his reputation.

If he's caught wearing mismatched socks, people might think he’s not quite got his life together...
