Santa lands at Cape Town beach with a bang
Updated | By The Workzone with Alex Jay
Santa Claus tumbled off of a boat onto the shore at Bakoven Beach in Cape Town while trying to deliver presents.
In an attempt to spread festive cheer to beachgoers in Cape Town, the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) sends Santa Claus out to Cape Town's beaches with presents each year.
This year the revellers at Bakoven Beach got quite a show when the jolly man in red approached the shore in a boat, greeted them with his signature "Ho, Ho, Ho!"- and then proceeded to fall over.
It is unclear whether the presents were too heavy or the water was just a bit too rough, but Santa took quite a tumble, much to everyone on the beach's amusement.
He recovered quickly (and thankfully the crew from the NSRI was there in case of any serious emergency), picked up his bag of gifts and continued with his mission.
Christmastime is always very warm in South Africa, so maybe Santa should practice less chimney shimmying and more swimming?
