Shocking accident at the N4 tollgate in Pretoria

The festive season, while a time for celebration, also brought sadness for those who experienced loss due to fatalities on the roads this holiday.
It's always a harsh reality to hear about the number of road accidents, but more so around the festive season – a time that is meant for joy, yet overshadowed by the grief of losing loved ones.
According to the N3 Toll Concession, many of the accidents on the N3 were caused by reckless driving, which only makes things worse. It’s especially hard to accept when we know these accidents could have been prevented had drivers made safer choices.

A video capturing a motorist's reckless behaviour at the Quagga tollgate on the N4 in Pretoria has left us shocked.
The video shows a Chevrolet bakkie on top of a Mercedes at the tollgate, and the details surrounding how this incident unfolded remain unclear. For many, the scene was yet another unsettling reminder of the tragic accidents witnessed during the festive season.
While this particular incident didn’t appear as bad as others circulating in the media, it was still shocking.
Reports suggest that the driver of the Mercedes attempted to avoid paying the toll fees by speeding up and trying to pass the vehicle at the same time. This kind of reckless behaviour, though not uncommon, is a dangerous practice that isn't publicised as much as it should be.

Not only was this an example of reckless behaviour, but it could've been easily avoided, making it that much worse.
