Should bringing out your pets (that aren't dogs or cats) in public be normalised?

Is there a fine line between taking your pet dog out shopping in comparison to your pet hamster?

We don't believe in discrimination, but things can get weird when the general public sees something that they are less than used to seeing.

As closed-minded as it may sound, seeing a pet owner with their dog is more socially acceptable than seeing a pet owner with their hamster.

However, that's subjective.

The media has glorified the idea of having a hamster as a pet. Consider the popular kids show, 'CoComelon'. Miss Appleberry has a class pet that happens to be a hamster.

A shopper unafraid of breaking the stereotypes surrounding socially acceptable pets brought their hamster with them while shopping. But no, they did not bring the little fellow out in his cage but allowed him to take refuge on her neck.
