In South Africa, we braai anywhere and everywhere
Updated | By Jacaranda FM
After all, we are celebrating the month of braaing and our heritage...
As we approach one of the most pride-filled days in our country, we are presented with a video that warms our hearts.
On the 24th of September, we celebrate Heritage Day and Braai Day; a day that is two-fold because they both work hand in hand with one another.
A day that is filled with the spirit of Ubuntu and well-rooted in our culture as South Africans.
There is always hype surrounding braais in South Africa. The overall sentiment is for a group of people to come together and prepare meat over a controlled flame.
Braaing takes time and that's the point, isn't it, for people to converse, enjoy each other's company, and be merry over food?
The great part of a braai is that you can have it pretty much anywhere. And that is a huge plus because all you need is coal/gas, meat, and an open flame with a braai stand.
Check out this awesome video that really got us in the mood to celebrate our heritage this Braai Day.

I didn’t even need to see the Engen sign to know where this was filmed

No matter what situation we face, we can always, always make a plan. We are resilient by nature and celebrate each other with a smile.
And as we celebrate a month dedicated to our heritage, let's celebrate our diversity and rise above everything else.
