This is sort of depressing...
We love throwbacks, they have a way of reminding us of a different time.
And who doesn't enjoy reminiscing now and then? But when it comes to reminiscing about a more cost friendly time, we have to admit, it does hurt slightly.
Remembering a time when things were much cheaper is just a painful reality.
Because let's face it, the cost of living is anything but a walk in the park for many people.
And if you think about it, the cost of things continuously increases, but the income levels rarely do, which can be stressful.
A harsh reminder of what some grocery items costed a mere 17 years ago has us shocked...

We were not the only ones who were left with our jaws dropped. Many people came to the comments to share their shock and horror.
And, mind you, some even admitted that in 2006 they thought these prices were expensive. Just goes to show, be happy with what you've got...
A tub of Flora was R9.49 and now retails for R60.00 (on special you can get it for R50.00).
A 1litre long life milk was going for R5.75, and now goes for around R13.00 or more.
And Five Roses teabags were R13.95 and now retails for around R50.00.
