The things people wear to a football match
Updated | By Jacaranda FM/Udesha Moodley-Judhoo

As many South Africans eagerly await tomorrow’s Soweto Derby, we can’t help but be excited by the high-spirited fans who bring flavour and fandom to our football stadiums.
A recent video that brought the funk showed us that as much as the much anticipated Soweto Derby is deeply rooted in the culture of many South Africans, extravagant bursts of colour and creativity from the fans also bring out the liveliness of our nation.
In the video, one fan stands out with a unique fashion choice – he's wearing a baby's nappy on his head like a hat, complete with a baby bottle and what appears to be a nasal aspirator tucked inside.
The meaning behind the nappy-as-a-hat look may not be immediately clear, but we think it is just something to get the crowd in the mood for the match. While we’re not sure which game this was from, it could also be a cheeky nod to the players and fans if they act like babies.
It’s certainly an interesting and humorous move, getting our tick of approval for being dramatic and very "extra" at a South African football match.
Much like Mama Joy. She goes all out at sports games across the country, and her bold presence is always celebrated.
