That time a basketball star called a reporter "beautiful"
Always, always check if your mic is live...
We've all had a crush at some point or the other, and for the most part, our actions always speak louder than our words.
But that was not the case for basketball player Nigel Hayes. In a press coverage footage taken in 2015, he was left blushing over a comment he made about a reporter.
Sounds innocent enough, but it certainly attracted some attention online.
Hayes, who was a 20-year-old sophomore forward for the Wisconsin Badgers at the time, sat down for a press conference.
As you know, the microphones are always placed in front of the players.
Unknowingly, he turns to one of his teammates and says: "God, she's beautiful."
Of course, at the time he was unaware that his microphone was live and the audience of reporters heard what he said. He put two and two together when everyone started laughing.
