Video made to raise awareness about mobile phone addiction
Updated | By Jacaranda FM
As much as the mobile phone can help, it can also be toxic and addictive.
The stats surrounding phone addiction are worrisome.
According to the Addiction Center: "There are over 3.8 billion smartphone users in the world; within that population, 6.3% have a phone addiction."
A video that depicted the extent of phone addiction was not only scary but also eye-opening. It shows a woman on her mobile phone while carrying her baby.
Casually, the woman opens up the refrigerator and puts her baby inside the fridge. She then proceeds to close the fridge door and goes about around the house all while still speaking on the phone.

"Phone addiction is the obsessive use of a smartphone. The behavioral addiction is often dubbed “nomophobia,” or the fear of being without a mobile device. There are over 3.8 billion smartphone users in the world. Research published by Virgin Mobile discovered that those billions of smartphone users receive 427% more messages and notifications than they did a decade ago." (Addiction Center)
