VIDEO: Woman narrowly escapes death when sign plummets onto highway

Shocking footage shows the moment a road sign came crashing down, crushing a car which was passing underneath on the highway.

This accident occurred on Janurary 8 in Melbourne. The 53-year-old woman survived the accident. The video shows how Nella Lettieri was traveling along the Tullamarine Freeway at around 5.15pm on Tuesday when the sign came loose. The terrifying footage was captured by the dashcam of the driver directly behind the car involved in the incident.
According to Time, Lettieri was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with neck injuries and is in a stable condition. Transportation officials are currently investigating the cause of the accident and inspecting similar signs for issues.
