The gift of taking anything and making it sound jolly...
Have you ever been so taken aback by something that you don't realise you are the butt of a joke?
We are well aware that when it comes to foreigners or countries that we are unfamiliar with, there is a sense of mystery and intrigue; especially when that country's first language is not English.
So, we can understand why this woman was taken aback by a waiter who she thought was Japanese.
It was her birthday and the waiter allowed her to assume he was Japanese, or at the very least knew how to speak Japanese.
The video that was shared to TikTok, not by the original poster, says that while she thought he was singing 'Happy Birthday' to her in Japanese, he was just saying Japanese car companies.
How crazy is that?
