When you think you can get your own way at a restaurant just because you're hungry and maybe a little intoxicated.

There's never a dull moment when you scroll through social media. You either come across someone having a good time creating content, or you find someone sharing someone else's moment with the world.

A recent TikTok video captured two guys, reportedly students, behind the cashier's desk at a McDonald's in Stellenbosch, Cape Town. The video’s poster claims that these students are from Stellenbosch University.

If that’s the case, it’s no surprise – Stellenbosch University students have made quite the name for themselves in the content world. Who could forget the student who turned singing in his lectures into a trend...

The video suggests that these students, likely under the influence of alcohol and hungry, decided to take matters into their own hands by heading behind the cashier's desk to serve themselves – and everyone else.

Deonette Margo, who shared the video, made it clear that in Stellenbosch, there's never a dull moment.

In a surprising twist, one commenter shared a similar experience, saying, "We did the same after groove the staff even showed us how to make our burgers, which we prepared ourselves by supervision at around 3 am. We ate our burgers in the kitchen, McDonald’s Pretoria."

The video was shared playfully and humorously, with Margo pointing out that the guys weren’t trying to cause trouble or pick a fight with the security guard – they were just hungry.

While many found the situation amusing, others had a more serious take, calling it "privileged behaviour" and expressing concern over their decision to go behind the counter.

Although it’s never acceptable to cross over to the other side of the counter, it was clear that their intentions weren’t malicious; they simply wanted to be served.

That said, there’s always a line, and it’s important to remember not to cross it.
