WATCH: Girlfriend makes a run for it after proposal
A video of a guy who went down on one knee to propose at an NHL game is jolted as his girlfriend says no and runs off.
Making the decision to ask someone to marry you is a big deal. The tricky part is that there is this tradition that calls for a sense of surprise and romance when popping the question.
And sometimes that is where things go south instead of in the direction of saying yes.
Of course, there is this romanticised notion about saying 'yes' and that's how all proposal stories should end. But that's not always the case.
We doubt that the person asking ever thinks that their partner is going to say 'no' or even thinks of that as a possibility.
But the reality is that it is a reality. 'No' is very much a possibility.
We are sad to say that this poor guy is facing empathetic posts all over social media over his proposal.
After he went down on one knee and things didn't go as planned, he was seen returning to his seat taking a big sip of his alcoholic beverage.
In the video, the guy is seen shirtless on one knee asking his girl to marry him.
He was even featured on the infamous kiss cam. Talk about piling on the pressure!
And as he waits on her to answer, we see her approach him and say something to him.
Of course, we cannot hear their conversation, but his facial expression says things were not going to plan...
