There are many people who are masters at being able to learn different languages. Some of them have a passion for it and really nail it.

We have found one such person, a German student who came to SA just a couple of months ago.

He is not just a student though, he is also a blogger and has documented speaking to locals in isiXhosa, videoing their reactions.

Most of the people he spoke to were shocked at his fluency in speaking the language.

And, surprisingly, many of them assumed that he was taught by a girlfriend or wife who spoke isiXhosa.

They were surprised to hear how natural he sounded and were happy when they heard him speak.

We assume the reason many people received him speaking isiXhosa so well was because it speaks volumes of their heritage.

Adopting a new language immerses one into the cultural and traditional values of that dialect.

It is indeed a compliment, something that says something positive about South Africa and the range of languages we have.
