What refuse removal in other countries looks like...
Sometimes looking at the way service delivery works in other countries can be so enlightening.
Not just for the basic purpose of knowing how other countries operate, but to notice their sense of efficiency when it comes to providing a service to the people.
We recently came across a video that shows how the waste and refuse works in Switzerland.

And as much as it may seem mediocre to many, it really did surprise us.
Not because we haven't seen something like this before, but because it amazes us why all countries don't follow the same efficiency when it comes to refuse removal.
Of course, there is the issue of job creation when it comes to South Africa, but even then, this method seems so much more productive than what we are practicing currently.
Perhaps if we took time to look at how we could use the workforce more productively. Maybe using their hands to switch to a more green and sustainable way of living, then we could adopt this very useful methodology of emptying trash cans.

Many people were not surprised by the video and said that this is how many countries in Europe operate.
Which goes to show that we are far behind the leaders, most especially when it comes to being efficient and if we're being spicy, we are ahead with our rates of corruption.
Nonetheless, we hope that we can learn from first world countries in ways that benefit our service delivery systems.
Because after all, picking up someone else's waste is not the most ideal way we can use our people's hands to make light work.
