WATCH: Police called to escort couple out of local flight after drama over a cello
Updated | By Jacaranda FM
A video shows an American couple on a South African flight being escorted off the flight. The reason was due to the couple wanting to keep their Cello with them on the seat.
Since 9/11, any drama on a plane can be disconcerting to say the least. It can also be nerve-wracking, because you don't know who to trust.
But it seems that sometimes the drama is just that, drama.
This is what we recently saw on social media, when an American couple decided that they wanted to fly with their cello seated beside them.
If you've travelled before, you will know that there are certain rules and regulations when it comes to what you can and cannot bring onto the aircraft.
It is therefore surprising to us that travellers still create mayhem when it comes to what they can fly with.
A video released on TikTok by a fellow passenger shows a couple, in particular a man, being apprehended by two police officers.
The woman on the other hand is busy using her smartphone to video the policemen apprehend her husband.

From what we could gather, the issue was not about whether or not they paid for a separate seat for the cello, but rather that the airline did not allow this. The cello needed to go to the special luggage compartment.
The drama began when they refused to listen, and the authorities were brought in to remove them from the plane.
The man seemed to be quite antsy and resisted their attempts at removing him from the plane. Then the woman gave a public apology to everyone for delaying the plane. It didn't seem like anyone received her well though.
Check out some of the comments:
ClarinetKitty: "I am a professional musician. You either have to buy a seat for the cello or put it in the hold. These people knew this, they were chancing it."
Amanda: "Idk but you can hear her say “we paid a full fare ticket for the cello”"
Dzanga: "flysafair's policy states that cello's or large instruments need to go in the cargo compartment with special luggage🤨"
