These doorless elevators in Germany stun tourists
Updated | By Jacaranda FM
This could be the coolest and most dangerous way to travel between floors we have seen to date.

The philosophy of life is that we are meant to move forward with improvement. Society measures success by achieving something better than what we currently have.
But not all things need improvement, like that age-old saying: "If it isn't broken, don't fix it."
That was the thinking behind The Paternoster, Europe's doorless elevator.
The Paternoster is a doorless elevator that uses a conveyor belt mechanism. Many of these elevators were demolished due to their unsafe nature, but many still exist in Germany. They were popular in 20th-century office buildings.
It is something of a functional tourist attraction. Enthusiasts fought for these elevators to stay put, and in 2015, The Wall Street Journal noted that 231 were still in existence.
Watch the YouTube video that shows people using the doorless elevator in Germany:
It was interesting to note how natural it was for the locals to jump on and off the elevator effortlessly.
However, it posed a challenge for these tourists visiting the USA. Watch as they had a laugh about it on a TikTok video.
@houseofhighlights I would definitely mess this up 😭😭🤣 (via @Reverie 😈) #elevator #fail #tourist #fails ♬ original sound - House of Highlights
