When the kids are away, the teachers will play...
It's ironic in a way that the older kids have just willingly started staying at home earlier than they were supposed to and the younger kids have stayed until their break-up days.
We remember when school kids would go to school until the last day of the term, not just because they were required to do so but also because many parents didn't have the means to keep their kids at home.
So much has changed since then. Nowadays, learners stay away from school as soon as their examinations or assessments are over.
We've seen much in the media about how the parents are feeling. We've even seen a teacher's perspective, and now we see a nonverbal perspective that shows what teachers are getting up to at school.
In a video shared on social media, two teachers walk aimlessly. One of them has a skipping rope in hand and begins skipping.
They are soft-spoken and don't seem excited about being at school without their learners. Here, we thought it would be a 'when the kids are away, the teachers will play' scenario.
It gave them some quiet time and an opportunity to be playful at school in the absence of the learners.
