We have to admit there is a certain stigma around truck drivers...
Heavy duty vehicles are high-powered and generally known for hauling material in large quantities. This means that there are safety checks and precautions that drivers have to undertake on a regular basis.
Drivers be vigilant for their own safety and those around them. However, sometimes accidents happen, and mechanical failures leave drivers in challenging spots.
As they say, a person's fight-or-flight response to chaos says a lot about that person's character. In this video, we see how the driver managed to manage the situation so that no one was hurt.
In a video shared on social media, a truck driver loses control of his horse and trailer due to an alleged brake failure.
The driver is steering up a slight hill, and several vehicles are behind him. Still, instead of letting the truck roll uncontrollably, causing things to get worse, he steers the truck onto the oncoming lanes, climbs an island, and avoids what could've been a significant crash.
The incident is said to have taken place in Lusaka, Zambia.
People commented on the video and commended the driver for handling the situation the best he could. We're no experts, but the damage was contained to his truck from what we could see, and that was a good save.
