It's always frustrating when you buy something from your preferred retailer, only to find something wrong.

Besides the hassle of returning the item and addressing the issue with the retailer, a disappointing experience can also sometimes taint your view of the brand.

While it’s true that retailers often rely on various suppliers for their products, it can still leave customers feeling shortchanged when the quality doesn’t meet expectations.

A customer took to social media to share her 'croaking' discovery of a living frog inside a sealed bag of lettuce. She explained that she bought the lettuce from Woolworths and was shocked to find a frog moving around inside the packet.

Some people joked that this was the ultimate sign of freshness – after all, what better way to feel close to nature than finding something still alive in your food?

A social media user shared how the same thing happened to her last year.

"Same thing happened to me over a year ago. They just gave me a R50 voucher, but I don't feel that was enough for my pain and suffering. I ran 10 laps around the kitchen screaming."

Another user wrote, "Actually finding a frog in your greens is a good sign, it indicates that the leaves are fresh. Mainly because frogs need moisture so it just shows that it’s good quality. Read abt in an article."
