Woman innocently helps out two boys in the park and they scam her!
Updated | By East Coast Radio
Looks can be deceiving, these two boys are proof of that...
Being a victim of crime is never something that one willingly walks into.
And being the victim to a crime when you are trying to help someone out, is even worse.
A woman by the name of Laura Grasso was walking through Central Park in New York last month. She came across two young boys that she described as having angel faces.
The children had told her that they were lost and asked to borrow her phone so that they could call their mom.
But this is when the plot thickened.
The two did not call their mom but rather accessed Laura's Venmo app. In case you didn't know, Venmo is a digital money app that allows people to send money easily.
They used the app to send $1,000 to a business account under the name, 'Black Lives Matter'.

When Grasso eventually saw an email notifying her of the transaction, it was too late as the young boys had already left.
Grasso made a police report at the station and was told that there were two other reports made with minors doing the same thing.
Talk about using your innocence to your benefit...

"Venmo eventually cancelled the transaction and returned the money to Ms Grasso a few days later. The account did not appear to be affiliated with the Black Lives Matter organisation." (GD Online)
