Uh, we know this to be something of an antiseptic healing liquid, not a whitening liquid...
When you think about your health, many people don't pay enough due to their oral health.
And, of course, your teeth and mouth deserve a great deal of attention considering it helps you speak and eat.
But with a host of TikTok trends that are leading people to participate in some crazy and dangerous acts, we have to say we would rather be 'unfollowed' and 'ordinary' than be trendy.
A woman recently shared three parts to her whitening her teeth.
But she doesn't use whitening paste or an authorised, FDA-approved teeth whitener, but rather gentian violet.
Traditionally, we know this dark blueish/violet liquid to be used for wounds.
But we have now learnt that gentian violet is also widely used orally; in particular to treat thrush of the mouth and skin.

So, it truly shocked us when we saw this TikToker use gentian violet to whiten her teeth.
