We've heard of expensive toasted cheese sandwiches, fried chips, and the like.

And now we have been introduced to Bijin-Hime, aka ‘Beautiful Princess’.

"It is a Japanese strawberry variety that is perfectly shaped and coloured and offers an unmatched flavour. It also costs up to $350 a piece, making it one of the world’s most expensive fruits." (Oddity Central)

Now, if that didn't knock your socks off, then you are accustomed to pricey fruit.

The Bijin-Hime, which is regarded as one of the world’s most highly regarded strawberry varieties, is also quite large in size.

But get this, the larger the size, the less flavour and sweetness it contains. Which is quite an unexpected turn on the way we view quantity.

"They are rated at 13 degrees Brix, which makes them considerably sweeter than the 10-degree Brix strawberry standard, and have a flavor reminiscent of roses." (Oddity Central)
