Many foodies worldwide live to find the most exciting and unique food. Besides the appeal factor of finding something unique, it is also about exploration, discovering other cultures and how they prepare food, and experiencing taste.

A foodie from Vietnam (Ms. Yummyface) who often shares unique and interesting foods from her country shared something that might raise your eyebrows.

She shared a street food that is called, 'Stinky Fart Leaf Cake', and according to her, it smells like a "bitter fart".

We can understand why that doesn't sound appealing, but you have to wonder what it might taste like.

That's not all, though; the 'cake' is made with a jackfruit leaf, which is steamed with tapioca flour batter. So, the fun part about eating it is that you have to peel back the 'cake' part, which is the steamed cake batter.

You could say that it has an interesting story and is interactive. Ms. Yummyface describes the taste as slightly sweet and herbal. She also said that it could be found exclusively in Southwest Vietnam at dessert shops, but mentioned that these are fairly difficult to find.

Funnily enough, people were intrigued by the dessert, not to say that all of them were eager to try it out - check out some of the comments:

  • "You had me at “smell like a bitter fart”.
  • "Hahaha, I always try to decolonize my taste profile, but “bitter fart” was a little too much."
  • "I live in Asia and have eaten some unique things, but bitter farts might be where I draw the line."
  • "I don’t think I know what bitter fart smells like."
