Couple being sued for not giving parents grandchildren after 6-years of marriage!?
Updated | By Jacaranda FM
Do you think these parents have taken things too far?
There are many, many expectations on couples when it comes to marriage.
Especially in Indian culture.
The customary tradition goes in this order; courting or arranged marriage and then babies.
It's almost like that funny jingle we heard as kids, 'first comes love, then comes marriage, then comes a little baby in a little carriage'.
These parents have had enough and are now suing their only son and his wife.
Why?
Because after six years of marriage they have yet to produce a grandchild.
"Sanjeev and Sadhana Prasad, 61 and 57, say they used up their savings raising their son, paying for his pilot's training as well as a lavish wedding." (BBC)
"They are demanding compensation worth nearly $650,000 (£525,000) if no grandchild is born within a year." (BBC)
That's R10,358270.00!!! Can you even imagine?
The son and his wife have not been recorded providing any comment with regards to the lawsuit. The grounds for the lawsuit has been filed under the guise of "mental harassment".

Mr Prasad has shared that he spent all his savings on giving his son the opportunity to get his pilot's licence.
Only to have his son come home and not be able to find work for two years, in this time they had to support him financially.
"Shrey Sagar, 35, did eventually get a job as a pilot. His parents say they arranged his marriage to Shubhangi Sinha, now 31, in 2016, in the hope that they would have a "grandchild to play with" during their retirement." (BBC)
