There's something about cheering on people to the finish line, it gets us all excited...
The New York City Marathon took place on Sunday and people came out in their numbers to support runners.
Runners battled through the brutal heat to make it to the finish line. But what's a good race without enjoying the journey?
Several people come out on race day wearing something fun or entertaining to be memorable, or just as a way of pumping themselves up for the race.
We were happy to see some creativity that came both from the runners and the spectators. From a runner who ran with a pineapple on his head, to people offering up funny banners on the way.
It was certainly entertaining and offered up some motivation for the runners.

Interestingly enough, the man who ran with a pineapple did so before at the Berlin Marathon in September 2022. Now that's one tropical way of making a statement...
