6 reminders from a nutritionist that will keep you going

How do you remind yourself to take time to do the things that help your overall health and wellness?

If you're just as surprised as we are that the first school term of 2025 is almost over, it's time for a quick reminder.
The year is already setting its pace, and if we're not careful, we might find ourselves drifting through it, forgetting all the goals and intentions we set for ourselves.
Wellness experts always advise finding balance, which is something many of us struggle with.
Acceptance plays a key role in getting it right. Once you acknowledge the many roles you have to play, you can start integrating the mindfulness practices that will support your well-being into your daily routine.
Let's be honest: not everyone can easily find practical solutions for their busy days. But once you accept that your schedule is packed, it becomes easier to fit in practices that benefit you.
It's less about finding extra time and more about prioritising what's truly important.
Marina Wright shared some insightful reminders to help you stay on track. After all, you don’t want to hit the halfway point of 2025 and realise that nothing has changed for the better.
1. Make eating a conscious experience
Too often, we rush through meals just to get back to work or our tasks.
But every meal is an opportunity to fuel, nourish, and care for your
body.
2. Movement versus exercise
Instead of stressing about finding time for a full workout, embrace the
idea that any movement is better than none. Even small steps can make a
difference in how you feel.
3. Breathe
This simple act often goes unappreciated, yet it can make all the
difference. When you're feeling stressed or overwhelmed, take a moment
to breathe – slowly. "Slow breathing is a gateway to a calm mind."
Remember this the next time you're facing a challenge, whether at work
or at home.
4. Change happens in small steps
We've all heard that consistency is key, and the reality is that
transformation doesn’t happen overnight. But when you take things one
step at a time, change is inevitable. Progress may feel slow, but with
each small effort, you’ll see how far you’ve come.
5. Rest is your right, not something you have to earn
We live in a time when it feels like we must do everything all in one go. Let go of the pressure that comes with "earning" rest. Instead, rest because your mind and body need it to function at their best.
6. Let go of perfection
We are enough as we are. The societal expectation of perfection is not something we need to strive for; it's something we can let go of. Accept your worth in life and practise gratitude for everything you are and everything you’ve achieved.
