Have you ever had a stain on your favourite shirt that just won’t budge? Or maybe your kid’s creative masterpiece on the dining room wall doesn't exactly match your decor?

Stains often feel like a death sentence for your belongings, but the story doesn’t have to end there.

DIY content creator Armen Adamjan has shared some useful hacks for removing stains from clothing, cutting boards, and walls – using items you likely already have at home, making them cost effective.

1. Cutting board stains

Sprinkle some salt and baking soda (bicarbonate of soda) onto the cutting board, then scrub with a lemon. Rinse with cold water and watch as the stains disappear.

2. Makeup stains

Makeup stains can be tricky, often persisting even after a wash. But according to Adamjan, apply shaving cream to the stain and let it sit for five minutes. Then rinse with cold water, and the stain will vanish.

3. Wine stains

Wine stains, whether on a T-shirt, carpet, or couch, can be stubborn. Adamjan's method involves sprinkling salt on the stain to absorb it, then soaking the fabric in warmed milk for 10 minutes. Wring out the milk and rinse the fabric under cold water.

4. Sweat stains

Mix salt and vinegar in a bowl, stirring until the salt dissolves. Soak the sweat-stained area of the T-shirt in the solution for 10 minutes, and then throw the shirt into the washing machine.

5. Ink stains on walls

Apply shaving cream directly to the ink stain, then gently rub it off with a dry cloth. Watch the stain disappear before your eyes.

6. Scuff marks on your sneakers

Simply apply lip balm to the scuff marks and use a tissue to wipe them away, leaving your sneakers looking fresh.

7. Grass stains

Rub a lemon onto the stains before tossing the clothing item into the washing machine.
