Is this arcade trick a hack or cheating?

A girl shows her mother a trick she saw someone use to win an arcade game. But here’s the question: is it a clever hack or just plain cheating?
Mastering arcade games is a coveted achievement for most kids. Beyond dominating the leaderboards, there’s the thrill of collecting tickets to trade for prizes – a reward system that fuels the competition.
But with such high stakes, some players are tempted to bend the rules, resorting to trickery to beat the system into declaring them winners.
Let’s face it: it’s as shady as it sounds.
Take last year, for example, when a Johannesburg teen made headlines by visiting multiple arcades to crack the code of the infamous claw machine games.
His approach wasn’t outright cheating but a calculated, formula-based strategy to tip the odds in his favour.
This incident was quite different from another video of a young girl who shamelessly cheated her way to scoring 1,000 tickets.
In this video, a mother shared how her daughter told her she learnt a new hack from a guy who'd used the machine before her. The machine was one where you pull the
lever and the wheel spins and lands on the number of tickets you win.

Check out some of the comments from the video post.
"If they didn’t want you to do it they would ensure it didn’t open."
"I did this in high school and got enough tickets to redeem for a Nintendo Switch; when I went to redeem them, they took a picture of me, wiped my card and said they would call the cops if I ever came back."
"It's not cheating... it's 'setting yourself up for success'."
"That's not cheating. This is creative winning."
