Are remote workers less productive?
Updated | By The Workzone with Elana Afrika-Bredenkamp
For the last two years, employees have been bragging about their ability to do their job remotely, while their companies are struggling to pay their salaries. Does working remotely work for You?
Disney's CEO, Bob Iger, believes that remote workers are less productive.
Iger returned from retirement to save the company after employees started working remotely.
The company reportedly lost $1.5 billion in the last quarter of 2022.
One of the first decisions that Bob Iger made was to ask remote employees to return to corporate offices by March 1st.
Iger believes remote working kills creativity.
"Creativity is the heart and soul of who we are and what we do at Disney. And in a creative business like ours, nothing can replace the ability to connect, observe, and create with peers that come from being physically together, nor the opportunity to grow professionally by learning from leaders and mentors," Iger said in his 'back-to-office' email to employees.
Do you think employees working remotely are less productive? Elana Afrika-Bredenkamp weighed in on the topic.
