Baby learns the hard way not to touch fire
Updated | By The Workzone with Elana Afrika-Bredenkamp
This one-year-old was unhappy about the celebrations when she learnt that fire doesn't feel as lovely as it looks.
Teaching your kids life lessons can sometimes happen naturally. In other words, you don't plan the lesson; it just happens.
Lessons about fire safety, for instance, are integral to a child's life. Learning about the dangers of fire at an early age could save a life, if not many lives.
However, as we all know, not all parents follow a linear method of teaching their kids about such things. Some parents believe that children learn better through experience.

Parents who celebrated their baby's first birthday and shared it online follow that thinking.
They posted a video of their one-year-old sitting in front of her birthday cake. The cake had a number one candle lit and still inside the box.
The baby was mesmerised by the candle, and as mom and dad sang to her, she touched the fire with her finger. It was a quick touch, and she doesn't seem to have been hurt badly, but she learned a critical lesson about fire.
