Bride-to-be shares frustration over her future mother-in-law

Sometimes it is best to just accept that you may never be on the same page with your in-laws...

Mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law are notoriously known for their rocky relationships, but that's not to say that they can't have a good relationship.
It's just a common link that many families (across cultures) experience when a new daughter-in-law enters her in-laws' home. There's an old saying that explains the dynamic; you can't have two queens under one roof...
There will always be clashing because with two people in power roles, it is inevitable. No two people can be in the driver's seat.
The same can be said for two kings in one home. But this story is specifically about two women and their inability to reach a common ground of respect.
A bride-to-be shared her story on Reddit saying that her mother-in-law-to-be finds it difficult to take 'No' for an answer.
"I do love my MIL-to-be, but she’s making me crazy lately. Not taking no for an answer, pushing things on me I don’t like or doing things the way she does. She’s also almost 80 and we have different styles and opinions etc." (Reddit)
The bride-to-be shared that her mother-in-law-to-be keeps insinuating that she should invite her friends to the wedding, but that she and her future husband want to have a small wedding with family only.
She went on to say that over and above the insinuations, they have been clashing in their opinions about everything. From what type of dogs she likes in comparison to her MIL to the place she decided to donate to.
The bride-to-be appealed to Reddit users for help and here are some comments:
