If you're striving for a healthier lifestyle while trying to lose weight, these tips are a game-changer.

Too often, women expect quick results without considering how their daily habits impact progress. Certified coach Gigi highlights key morning mistakes that could be sabotaging your weight loss efforts.

"What you skip in the morning can slow your progress," she explains. "Avoid these common traps and set yourself up for success."

1. Skipping water
Dehydration slows metabolism and triggers cravings. Start your day with a glass of water – adding a slice of lemon can boost hydration and provide vitamin C, which may aid digestion.

2. Starting with sugar
Cereals, pastries, and flavoured coffee spike blood sugar, leading to energy crashes and overeating later. Without a plan, it's easy to reach for quick sugar fixes. Meal planning helps you stay in control and make better choices for your weight loss journey.

3. Not enough fibre
Low fibre leads to unstable blood sugar and constant cravings. Add berries, seeds, or whole grains to your breakfast to stay fuller for longer and keep cravings in check.

4. No movement
Skipping exercise can leave your metabolism sluggish. Incorporating physical activity into your morning routine can help with weight loss and improve your mental health. Exercise releases endorphins, which promote feelings of happiness and well-being.

5. Drinking coffee on an empty stomach
This can spike cortisol levels, which can lead to energy crashes and digestive issues. It's best to enjoy your coffee after breakfast for a smoother start to your day.
