A classic 'Ke Dezemba' trait: Sleeping while standing

A classic 'Ke Dezemba' trait: Sleeping while standing

This might be the most accurate video to describe people in December...

We have officially entered the last month of the year, and it is starting to feel like the holidays. As the clock struck 12, it was as if everyone's alarm bells went off, activating the holiday mood.

It is spontaneous and natural; even if you are still working, you feel the energy shift.

People start behaving like they are on holiday, and you can tell things are more laid-back. It's a part of the year that rarely is associated with sleep and has most people in party mode.

This instinctively happens for kids as well, as soon as they complete their exams and tests, they stay home from school and start their December holidays early.

During the holiday break, kids adopt a new routine, one that is filled with late nights and excessive snacking, and you could say whatever resemblance to a routine they have thrown out of the window.

They adopt a free-minded lifestyle and tend to have an accentuated sense of FOMO (the fear of missing out). So, you can bet your life that it will be more challenging to get them to nap.

We saw a video of a toddler fighting the urge to sleep, and it finally caught up with him. He was seen standing in the back seat of a vehicle, holding his toy car in one hand, asleep but still standing.

It reminded us of two things, one, make sure to nap or rest during the holidays or else you might experience burnout of another kind and two, standing and sleeping can be hazardous.

Take some out this December to rest, and also remember partying is all well and good, but there is such a thing as overdoing it. Be responsible and safe out there.
