Excuse me? Father punishes his son with 17 hours of gaming

Parents who use reverse psychology on their kids really do seem to have it all together.
We have heard of a variety of parenting styles and with each comes a certain standard of discipline from parents.
It's not the first time that we have heard of parents using reverse psychology.
And this one really did shock us, as it involved playing a risky game of parenting.
After a father from China found his 11-year-old playing video games late at night, obviously way past his bedtime, he decided to do things differently.
Instead of taking his son's video games away from him, he punished his son by telling him to play his games continuously for 17 hours without any breaks.
All this without any sleep as well.
Some might say this is quite a harsh method of punishment, we could even go as far as saying that this is a mild form of abuse.
But sometimes playing kids at their own game can teach them a valuable lesson. We are uncertain as to the result of his punishment and whether or not he learnt his lesson.
What we do hope is that he did learn something from the very harsh sentence his father handed down.

Not everyone agreed with his form of discipline. What we are uncertain of is whether all those commenting were actual parents:
elvisatthemetgala: "advanced form of punishment, that dad paved the way for new forms of torture, great parenting"
nihit_kale: "Bad parenting. The kid's health is more important than these stupid punishments."
muna.oox: "The mother that allowed should be ashamed. The father is crazy 17 hrs for small boy, forever traumatised cos the fear that he implanted will turn into hate. Congratulations!! Played yourself"
