You cannot read these in 2018 without cringing a little. We really have come a long way!
In the fifties, getting married in your teens was acceptable and attracting an eligible partner was top of mind.
In 2018, marriage isn't always top of mind, as a lot of people are chasing careers or simply don't wish to get married.
A Facebook user, Kim Marx-Kuczynski, shared a post about an article from a magazine she bought back in 1958 which details 'ways to get a husband' on Facebook - and the debate is heated.
The publisher apparently asked sixteen people to brainstorm strategies lonely women could use to get men to pay attention to them and to sustain those prospective relationships. The 'volunteers' listed all sorts of things like crying in a corner to ordering a rare steak to never gossiping.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to get a husband in this day and age?
