Many tips and techniques are available to help people better balance their work time, but sometimes, they are not enough.

It has been said that something becomes a habit when done for a consecutive 21 days. Perhaps this is the issue behind finding a method or technique that sticks: being unable to follow through with it. However, the 21-day theory has caused much conjecture; some say it is a myth.

Technology has been a great source of help in managing people's time better. From online reminders to task managers and online assistants, a range of options are available to help one find a healthy relationship with their time.

  • Time blocking

This involves allocating specific times for work commitments and personal engagements. As much as it is essential to complete your work tasks, it is also vital to make time for yourself. You can use your smart device calendar to block time off to complete work tasks and personal engagements.

  • Use the Pomodoro Technique

This technique involves working holistically for 25 minutes and then indulging in a short break. This helps with productivity and avoids feeling burnt out. You could use your smartphone alarm app to set the alarm so that you can focus on your work for 25 minutes and then break off for around 5 minutes.

  • Virtual Assistants

Using virtual assistants or automation software can save time. These software programs help with repetitive tasks that do not require much thought. Using these applications allows you to practice efficiency and free up time for your personal life.

  • AI or ChatGPT

Use ChatGPT to help you organise your work day or tasks legitimately productively. You will be surprised how efficient this can be in your work and personal life.
