A mother who was on a search to help her daughter complete her Squishmallows collection dishes about the kindest person alive...
It is not often that people are able to take the time to share their positive experiences on social media.
For the most part, social media has been plagued by people who want to throw shade or overindulge on how brands can do better.
But the hashtag #ImStaying on Facebook always manages to leave us with a smile on our face, as people from all around South Africa share the reasons they want to stay in South Africa.
The #ImStaying hashtag has become something of an online testament to why South Africans should remain here instead of emigrating.
After the pandemic, South Africa saw a surge in our country's people emigrating, all for a variety of reasons. But this hashtag reminds us that nowhere in the world will you get people practising the concept of ubuntu as you would find in Mzansi.
Cindy Steenkamp, a woman who was on a mission to make her daughter happy with her Squishmallows collection, shared her special story on Facebook.
Steenkamp made it her mission to help her daughter with her collection. After meeting a McDonald's employee by the name of Elizabeth, she was off to a great start with her mission.
On the first day she went into the outlet, she was greeted by Elizabeth, who went out of her way to make sure that a little girl with a love for Squishmallows got what she wanted.
Came inside a lady passed me with a huge smile..... I looked back at her and greeted her realizing she worked there. She asked me if I needed help, and I explained that I was there to buy toys, she let out a laugh together with a frown of confusion on her face. So I told her all about my little girl's collection of squishmallows!!!! She then went to the back and checked what was new on the arrivals. She even went so far as to take the last one out of display and give it to me. This went on for 2 weeks, going out of her way to help me..... Her words to me were: I will do anything for my customers to see them smile, then I know I did something right by them!!!!!!! I was shocked ..... I stood there looking at her and asked if I could get a huge hug how she went out of her way to help make my little girl's dream come true !!!!!!- Cindy Steenkamp

Steenkamp's post has attracted a beautiful response from fellow South Africans, with many praising Elizabeth for her kindness.
One of her colleagues saw the post and said she would make sure that Elizabeth saw the love that was being shared over her kindness.
