JHB woman says: "The water is back but it's blue!"
The recent water outages affecting residents in parts of Johannesburg have left many people irate and annoyed.
The water outages that hit many Johannesburg households have caused anguish among many residents. In addition to the inconvenience of not having water, the extreme temperatures have added to the discomfort.
Rand Water's planned infrastructure maintenance project is said to have been scheduled and plans to enhance "system availability, reliability, and efficiency".
Rand Water spokesperson Makenosi Maroo said, "December is particularly suitable for such work due to the closure of industries and, by extension, the temporary depopulation of Gauteng province as residents travel for holidays.”
In saying all that, it didn't make it any easier for visitors to the province – especially with the Chris Brown concert welcoming many South Africans from other provinces to Johannesburg last weekend – or for the residents expecting guests.
While some residents have reported that their water supply has been restored, many still lack access to running water.
A woman who lives in Linden, Randburg, shared a video yesterday showing that water had returned to her home, but with an unexpected twist...
